It's more than "Just a vacation."
One highlight of evening events is a masquerade ball
(costumes optional for those who like to “dress up”) on Wednesday night.

Masquerades are a fun twist to a celebration or social event.

Masquerades are lively events where dancing is involved. Traditional masquerade parties involve group dances in which
individuals also rotate partners.    Masquerade parties are exciting because guests usually wear costumes or dresses
that they wouldn't normally wear at a regular party. This is a chance to show your creativity in costumes and masks.
Antonio has created our musical atmosphere for the evening.
Lively dancing and creativity – sounds like our group doesn’t
it!!

Masquerade balls are all about the masks--this is what sets the event apart from others.

There are two types of masks: full face masks or eye masks. Women's masks sometimes feature intricate headpieces,
and makeup can be used creatively to complement an eye mask and make it seem like a full face mask.
Since the mask is the focal point of the event, dress may be as formal or informal as you would like.   A traditional
masquerade party involves fantastical costumes and ostentatious hair and makeup.

Since we’re not the traditional types, remember the mask is what creates your look for the ball.

We will be hosting a mask decorating class on Tuesday to start the creative ideas flowing.

Justine Marple is facilitating a “Mask Decorating Class”
Tuesday, September 22nd at 4 pm in the main conference room.

Sand Sea and Spirit will provide eye masks (already in your Welcome Bag) and basic decorating feathers, jewels, etc.
Justine will have a few of her own specialty items.  We will also have a full face mask, image below, available for purchase
($8) if you would like.
Bring your own decorations and/or mask if you choose.  Justine has been creating unique, one of a kind jewelry pieces for
many years.  Flair, outrageousness and personal style – Justine is a master; she can help you tap into these, too.  We are
very blessed to have her facilitate this class.

Elizabeth Whitson of Anya Naturals will offer a make over demonstration
Tuesday, September 22nd at 11 am in the Social Room.

During this time, Elizabeth gives tips on how to take daytime looks into a dramatic evening look, perfect for the Ball.
She features Anya Naturals line of Mineral Makeups - a perfect blend with no parabens, fragrances, fillers, talc or
bismuth oxychloride. This is Elizabeth's first year with Sand Sea and Spirit - and we are so grateful for her expertise
and introducing her incredible line of natural products.
